Quotes from posts...

I saw an older woman this morning running from her age. The previous evening, I saw a couple running from their relationship. And earlier that day, I saw a college student running from his life. Around the same time, I saw two twenty-something women running from their independence.
Why Are You Jogging Away?

If this is the case, and I believe it is, it becomes apparent that superiority and inferiority of any kind is a false belief. The value of possessions or wealth becomes painfully relative. The age in which one attains something in their life becomes trivial. On the very same path, one could be considered far ahead or far behind, but truly no one has traveled their road before.
The Other Person's Superlative

Police officers experience tattle-telling as part of their profession. They pull you over and literally tattle on you TO you about what you did wrong. As if that wasn’t enough, the bulk of them have gone to lengths to turn the whole ordeal into a little pop quiz, “Do you know why I pulled you over?” It feels like some kind of trap, doesn’t it? Even in elementary school, the teacher never caught you doing your work at your desk and then stopped you, took you aside and asked, “Do you know why we’re out in the hall?”
Black and White Equals Gray

..., if you exercise that freedom in the manner of your choosing, which manner goes against their definition of the idea, you are an un-American, entitled traitor to capitalism and Freedom (English) itself.

... actors are little more that PVC pipes: they funnel source-material through their hollow, plastic bodies and hope whatever comes out of their mouths actually matters.

Who is more dangerous than a man who thinks of himself as an exception to social progress?

Every human being has proven that they need to be regulated, in one way or another. From the child to whom the parents have to say, "Don't play with matches," to the Honorable Judge that had to say, "Don't play with matches, Thomas Sweatt."

Don’t think you are correcting me--I mean it when I say, “I could care less.” Everyone could, whether they know it or not. The reason say that very phrase is because I care enough to mention whatever it is to which I’m referring. If I couldn’t care less, then I wouldn’t mention it; I wouldn’t even think about it. The same goes for every single person that utters the same. So, you’re wrong.

It seems this is how some people live their lives: they sprint from one goal to another, without a moment’s pause, just so they can wait longer than those of us to take more time getting to that same point. Every time you catch up, however, notice how they jump off the mark at the exact moment the time is appropriate. You should feel less than these "drivers", because they don’t meddle with the journey--they’re ironically in love with standing still.

This is the most terrifying aspect of mental illness: the fact that we can’t perceive there’s an issue--we feel that we’re acting normal, common to our peers. Then we see ourselves behave in a way that others have said isn’t normal, and our reality changes to where it’s like we’re watching our bodies do things and hearing our voices say things that we, finally, recognize as inappropriate to the situation. Yet, it seems we can’t stop, and the damage is being done in front of our own eyes. Our greatest fears have taken over and have now become reality.

At any angle, super-humans aren’t all that super. They are their own category: products of their delusional and mentally-eccentric architects, building sewers for the waste of time.

Your own education and knowledge are just reservoirs from which to draw necessary information, not destroy and drown what sproutlings may already exist within the students' minds.

Territory, property and influence are all illusions, created men who like to wear costumes, and are, for lack of a better word, bored.

That’s the ultimate message of science fiction: "Watch out for the future, ‘cause whatever our current path of life is will surely lead us all to extinction."

... humans are truly the scariest things in our lives, because they manufacture the origins of our invisible fears. They just hide behind the scenes so they can watch us squirm.

Within the very nature of money is the power to neglect, kill and destroy.

To stifle God within the confines of human imagination is to kill the very notion, and this will lead to widespread atheism, which can only lead to widespread nihilism. And widespread nihilism will only lead to the despair, and the ultimate destruction, of us as a species.

Someone will always take offense to honesty, regardless of how tactfully it was offered. These are the ... people who never learned not to be children.

Truly, apathy is manifest only when someone has no concept of their identity, or when someone has neglected their identity for too long.

Love is still under attack, being held up with finger-guns. And It's still losing.

..., if you care too much, care less. However, if you can afford to, it's best if you stop caring, at all. You have to live, yes. But you don't have to care.

I don't own the [language] I use, just as I don't own the truth I perceive.

There are too many 'yourselves' you don't know about, and you can't possibly keep up with the ones you think you do.

Validating useless art majors is the number one qualification to be a successful art critic.

You, and all who have been taught, have been taught solely for the purpose of making money for your superiors. I mean, come on. You don't need to know who you are to keep your boss employed.

Adults feel no responsibility for the feelings of other adults, yet play victim to any mistreatment of their feelings. They expect other adults to "deal with it" yet won't "deal with it", themselves. They use the guise of justice to literally justify their cowardice.

What power ... belongs to those who not only discover who they are, but what they're made of--because only they can actually create a new identity, becoming truly individual.

Your kids aren't kids anymore. They're constantly being taught they need to survive, no matter what it takes. And, to our great astonishment, their human instincts have kicked-in, and they are surviving with their natural ability to snuff-out competition, where they can. Unless everyone can chill out, and take a sniff of reality in the moment, I hope we're prepared for the world when we, ourselves, have become their greatest rivals.

It's not our fault, everyone. It's English's fault. And, it's the fault of all those who stand up for English who, ironically, are the worst at using it. You know, the people who complain about all of the languages that are coming in to the U.S., as well as the overabundance of so-called 'political correctness', yet hate it when you correct their misuse of English without being nice about it.

"If each of us has their own power, then we, as a people, will be powerful."

What didn’t occur to her is that, though she thought she was keeping them safe by slamming the door as she left, she was convincing them they weren’t allowed to follow.

In reality, when so much attention is drawn to the result of evil actions, even though the result is dangerous and can’t be ignored, it’s a boon the initial criminals, making the result of their guilt an effective red-herring to deserved punishment.
